International Training Programme in Oral &
Maxillofacial Surgery-2005
Department of OMFS, Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of
Peradeniya, Sri Lanka The training programme initiated in 2004
was expanded to include trainers and trainees
from many countries. A new theme Surgical Management of Oral Cancer
was also added.
AFOC joined hands with JSOMS, Tsurumi University ( headed by Prof
Kanichi Seto)
And Saga University ( headed by Prof Masaaki Goto) for the success
of the new programme in Faculty of Dental Sciences, University
of Peradeniya. Both Tusurmi and Saga Universities have already
signed agreements on academic cooperation with Peradeniya University.
Seminar topics included: Cadaver dissection sessions, Live Cancer
operations of tumuor ablation and reconstruction with pedicled
and microvascular flaps and discussions on comprehensive patient
care.

With the successful outcome it was decided to expand this programme
to include participants form other countries for coming years.
